I have been working at BJC HealthCare full-time for more than 3 yearsPros
-Good work/life balance. Offers a compressed work schedule. Many people get off at 3 or 3:30.
-Many of the people who work here have been here for ages.
-They do offer a pension, along with a 401k. Most places these days don't offer both.
-The job is fairly easy.
-Health benefits are decent.Cons
-Not a lot of room for advancement on the finance side of things.
-Pay is below market value, unless you're a top executive.
-Employees must pay for parking, unless you want to park a good distance from your location.
-Management allows employees who have been here for a long time to waste away and contribute nothing to the department.
-Many are stuck in their old ways and refuse to catch up with the times (e.g technological advances, computer systems, etc.).
-No reimbursement for continuing education.
-Managament does not give input or feedback on projects employees are working on. They just agree to whatever the employee says. Many in management have a "rubber stamp" mentality.Advice to ManagementAdvice
