I have been working at BMJ full-time (more than 10 years)Pros
BMJ likes to innovate with new opportunities and products being developed constantly to meet the requirements of providing better healthcare.
Good staff retention and benefits.
Initiatives to engage staff and also to recognise their contributions such as STAR awards and hidden talent programmes.
Fair holiday entitlement and flexible working policies.
Healthy staff committee and union interaction with senior management
Because of high staff retention, promotion opportunities can take a long time, although new initiatives such as the hidden talent project are honest attempts to address this.
Because of the wide range of products and services, there are naturally some silos, that need to be broken down.
You will either fit in to the culture or you won't!Advice to ManagementAdvice
Tim Brooks has been in place as the CEO for two years and has certainly start t make his mark. it is important that the initiatives that he has brought in are developed further the next five years.RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEO
