Banfield Pet Hospital Photos
- RecommendsNo opinion of CEO
I worked at Banfield Pet Hospital full-time (More than a year)
Benefits are okay. Great co workers who care about the patient just as much as you do. Seeing cute felines and k9's. Willing to help you become a credentialed technician.
LONG hours. Sometimes you work 8 am- 8 pm multiple days in a row. The hours of operation are frustrating and make customers spoiled. We are opened everyday so many people think they can come anytime and treat everything like its no big deal. We care about animals and have to thoroughly do exams, and do not just give shots however you please. This new system Banfield has created called strengthening Banfield experience is a joke. Many pm's and corporate are talking it up so much that you almost question if they are joking or not. This has now made csc's almost useless (they call the back staff for just about anything over a loud head microphone) , Doctors more involved with quantity not quality of medicine which almost make you question if the practices being used is even legal, and over stressed/over worked assistants. The new process now authorizes assistants and technicians to "exam complete" or finalize pets final screens or chart for that visit. Some doctors are better than others and double checking, but if one moves to fast (making sure they fit in every pet possible!) they assume you can attain every medical term they've learned in vet school during a 10 minute appointment then finalize the screen.
Advice to Management
PLEASE start to truly listen to your action team that is actively working daily. Your team is struggling and you NEED to pay attention to what they need in order for people not walking out/ quitting. This job is becoming way too stressful and harder daily. There are just two assistants at the end of th work day leaving the dirty kennels, wiping the centrifuges, stocking, trash, swipping, mopping, etc. it takes anywhere from 1-2 hours to clean!
