Constant changes, unreliable hours, low pay to the amount of responsibilities, every hospital is different, lazy doctor and a bossy Practice manager, which causes high turn over rate.
Advice to Management
I would suggest that you do more digging as to why a doctor is looking for an employment, you will be amazed into why a doctor ahs been fired from past employers, I would trust in more your VA and VT's we see a lot more in the hospital than the field leaderships. I have been with Banfield for a year and a half and I have never seen a Doctor practice in the way the doctor at my hospital has been practicing, Atropine is always being used even on healthy pats, seizures and even merely cardiac arrest and not sharing these things in the medical notes nor to the owners, and I do not believe in this type of practice, when said to the Practice manager he gets defensive and implies that the doctor has the license and simply just forget on how she practices. I am constantly being graded on my performaces (PDP) and yet when I talk about my frustration with these kinds of cases I am told that I am not meeting the desired expectations, If this is how it is continue, I am not going to participate, the doctor gives false education to clients never does a complete physical exam, no diagnostics and tells clients to get there medications over the counters at a near by Pharmacy, she is lazy and I think Banfield leadership should conduct an investigation on this doctor since we cannot convince management something is definitely wrong. As for the manager he has become a passive aggressive individual and the way he is running the hospital is not consistent with the Banfield way. He treats clients well and does some exceptions to clients that are signed up on a wellness plan but turns people away even if they have a record and a client vet relationship but not on a wellness plan and that is not right. They are our clients and our patients. This Hospital is broken, and if Manager and Doctor are not looked into things are not going to get better. I have seen 6 people quit because of this and I am number 7 in one year.
