One of the best experiences I have ever had, and I would mostly attribute it to my department manager and his higher ups

I worked at Bank of America full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Random perks the company has with an online points system, depending on your boss you will have freedom to be the best employee possible but still feel welcome to ask as many questions as necessary. Also, there was a true sense of having a team - we had pot lucks, staff meetings, and training courses that truly brought everyone together

    Cons

If a manager does not know the task their associates are doing, they tend not to learn it (there is a sense of "I'm a manager I don't need to learn that"). Managers should be more humble and willing to learn/teach, like the Department Manager was.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire managers from within, who have worked their way up. They will not only contribute more but their contributions will hold more weight with the staff. Staff members respect being told how to do something by those who have actually done it themselves, and I do not mean for one week. They need to have been in the staff members' shoes to make a meaningful impact
