I worked at BankAtlantic as a contractor for less than a year

It was a paycheck and you had to leave at 5pm each day (no overtime allowed) so there was that.

Atmosphere was terrible. Management openly encouraged hostility towards consultants with the full-time developers. Managers repeatedly referred to contractors as 'resources' and not by name and when they did bother to call you by your name - mispronounced it - after you were there a YEAR. No effort made to work together - constant struggle if working with full-time developers to get requirements or any assistance cause there was a fear you would take their job (and a resentment you probably made more than they did, etc. which mgmt enjoyed keeping alive.) So yeah - it was pretty awful, but paid my bills for a year so...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn that consultants have feelings too and if you want an efficient / productive workplace - you need to stop nonsense and micromanaging people and let them use their talents.
