    Pros

There are wide variety areas that RN can work and there is ability to transfer within the larger facilities. It is a large healthcare organization that includes in-patient as well as out-patient care. Overall the physicians see the healthcare struggles and seem to support each other as a profession and are supportive of the nurses.

    Cons

It is felt that some of the upper level management teams do not support nursing as a profession and put unnecessary additional work on the nurses that take away from the actual patient care. Consistently work with short staff and poor staffing ratios.

    Advice to Management

Support your nursing team and work with the nurses as a profession. Recognize that nursing as a profession is stressful and those of us that work at the bedside do it as a passion and thrive to be recognized for the compassion and drive we have to perform quality patient care. Give us the tools and staff to do so and make us feel supported . There is a lot of emphasis placed on patient satisfaction without the realization from upper level management that if you have a happy staff you have happy patients which in turn will make for improved scores.
