I worked at Baylor Health Care System

    Pros

It is a teaching hospital and you do have the opportunity to observe many different procedures and surgeries. It is one of the oldest hospitals in Texas and has a solid reputation for it's care, there are many good doctors at Baylor and they really try and help the patients. My mother was a patient there for two weeks and the nurses were very nice, empathetic and compassionate. We were given a great company picnic once a year and they offer multi-year vesting options at twenty five percent the first year you are employed, to 100 percent after only five years.

    Cons

Benefits are terrible, for this company to be in the healthcare industry there should be a better benefit plan in place especially medical and dental. The medical benefits are Lumenos and very expensive and they don't pay for anything. Baylor gives you a Health Care Allowance of two thousand dollars and once that amount is depleted you have to pay out of pocket, which gets really expensive if you have a chronically ill child. The 401k plan is matched dollar for dollar only up to six percent. The management lacks open door policy and communication with the Board and president is limited to brochures.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more available to the employees, better communication
