    YMMV, depending on who you work under. I have seen both competent and incompetent leadership over my time there.

    I worked at Beachbody full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Working out during business hours and free supplements and shakes for as long as you work there are great perks to have if you are fitness and health driven. Culture is supposed to be casual and laid back, which for most people it is. As with any company, there are smart people, and not-so-smart people in every division. I was fortunate enough to work with mostly smart people, so my experience was better than most. Casual dress and flexible work hours were great. Given all the cons that are listed below, I would come back and work there to help them get out of the muck they are in because I believe in the message of the company of achieving better health and fitness for all, and because there are mostly genuinely good and smart people that work there.

    Cons

    Some people play the political game more than others, so there is a lot of needless bureaucracy and red tape in some areas of the business that prevents work from getting done. The common goal is to make the company more profitable, but these political players are all about self-promotion. Some people work in silos, and don't care to understand the entire business and how the processes need to improve to help cut cost and increase efficiency.

    Some people focus on performance numbers that are based on a broken matrix, and work estimates are asked based on unclear requirements, and if you don't meet those initial work estimates even though the scope grew, it counts against you. So expectation are unrealistic because people at the top don't necessarily understand the amount of work that actually needs to be done to get to that point. If there were a 360 performance review process, you would see quite a few upper management deemed incompetent.

    Some divisions have to follow policies that go against the "written" company culture, leading to lower morale, which in turn, lowers the morale of the divisions that work directly and indirectly with them.

    Adoption of new technology is very slow and has caused the company to lose whatever lead it may have had in home fitness arena. There is a lot of infrastructure cleanup that needs to be done because of poor decisions in the past by the powers that be, which is why they are where they are now, having to cut their workforce by 20% as of this review.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    The HR department, aka People department, needs to be able to enforce company policies across all divisions. If one division operates differently than other divisions, it only leads to resentment and lower overall company morale, which it currently does.

    The company needs to start adopting newer technologies now, before they are left behind in the industry. People in certain positions of power that got there through nepotism are holding the company back and need to be removed from those positions.

    I have neutral opinion of CEO Carl Daikeler because he has helped and hindered the company at the same time.
