    I worked at BlackBerry

Reducing the middle and upper layers of management has improved overall decision making timeline. The rapid changes to the company has helped the company reduce costs. Blackberry has reduced test time for new product to identify what works and what has not.

Not being part of the Sybase organization that the CEO, John Chen owned is a challenge to the remaining BlackBerry employees. Everyone who comes in from Sybase are all directors or above and all current employees are not offered that opportunity for promotion. The current employees have not had an increase in pay in over a year and a half while all others are brought in at a higher pay rate then the current employees who are taking on more work, tasked with cleaning up the work of those who have been laid off and still required to remain dedicated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at your current employees and see what potential that they have to offer before bringing in former employees for a previous owned company.
