Better by a long shot than Hollywood Video but I can't really recommend it.

    I worked at Blockbuster

Free rentals and average pay. Also unlike other companies I've worked at they don't usually ask you to step beyond the bounds of your job into management work which is nice but doesn't feel like it should have to be mentioned. I would say location but that is rapidly changing as stores get shut down.

I had to change stores three times, once due to store closings, another due to a dispute with poor management, that was rather annoying. Also when I did transfer they wouldn't send me to the store I wanted to go often leading to long commutes. They paid little to no attention to the idea of promotion and one specific store manager gave a promotion I was promised (a small one, to 4-Star CSR) to someone who was totally unreliable and incompetent simply because he was the store managers good buddy (which is when I made the aforementioned transfer).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's hard to really give advice to a company tanking in the face of modern technology, the only honest idea I can give would be to hop in some sort of time machine, go back ten years, and treat your customers better and give them more benefits which while hurting stocks for a year or two would breed brand loyalty and keep Netflix and free internet downloads at bay. People will always prefer to talk to educated and polite staff members over looking at a computer screen but when you shove sales down their throat and treat them like a piece of meat they will often scoff and look for another source.
