10 lbs of free chocolate on your birthday. It smells good.

Company has no clear strategy or leadership from the top-down. No clear career paths, no steady leadership from management, and a constantly-changing path for the plant's future. Much of the equipment is past its useful life, yet money isn't being invested in replacing or repairing it. The maintenance and safety departments are severely mismanaged to the point that equipment breaks faster than it gets fixed and OSHA-recordable injuries in the workplace are commonplace.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Most of the core management team in Chicago needs to be replaced with people who have both people skills to manage employees and technical aptitude. The current management team has several individuals who have been promoted past their point of competence, and the whole plant is suffering. The only company value stressed at this plant is "get the product out the door." You need to make a major investment in some of the plant equipment and in the skill level of the employees if you want to turn this ship around.
