I worked at Blue Fire Capital full-time (More than a year)

    1. Paycheck clears on time 2. Paid lunches daily 3. Refrigerator filled with yogurt (I guess this could be a con if you are lactose intolerant) 4. The office is about 50% full, so you can choose whatever chair you like 5. There are some good people to work with if you can find them 6. The firm is moving in a more analytical direction

    1. They will find some way to screw up their transition to a more analytical firm 2. The starting salary is barely above that of a McDonald's employee 3. If you ask for a raise, it will be held above your head even if you deserve it 4. There are a few actual traders and then there are the other "traders" who just babysit the trades while the real traders are at home- know which one you are if offered a position 5. Your chances of having a life outside of work are slim to none 6. Your ideas will never be listened to and constantly laughed at 7. You will always be criticized for mistakes (no matter how small), but never lauded for successes 8. It takes approximately 13 months for anything new to get implemented

    Advice to Management

Instead of looking down upon your employees as if they are your mindless slaves, actually listen to their ideas. Just because someone may not have as much experience in the field as you, they can still have valuable ideas. Adjust to changing market conditions much more quickly. Hire more people so employees can actually use their vacation days.
