I worked at Bluefield College full-time (More than 3 years)
Very flexible with employees with family as long as work can be made up. Management can be positive and very helpful. It is a Christian college but there seems to be clicks of Christian students and this isn't enforced across the board, so this is a pro and a con but there are a good number of high quality and high achieving students.
The pay is not sustainable for anyone entry level, especially with a family. Very small college so a lot of pressure to get new students in. Student retention isn't the best, a lot of students leave after a year or two so constant pressure to find those replacements. There is also no real career growth, especially within staff. Faculty may have a shot at becoming a department chair if they last long enough. It seems more new hires are brought in for higher staff positions rather than cultivating the staff that have been there for awhile.
Advice to Management
Although this is student focused, there seems to be a high turnover of faculty and staff. Try to sustain what you have for a couple years instead of constantly trying to cultivate a new project or idea before the ones that just have been planted have a chance to be established.
