    I worked at Bon Appétit Management part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Company supports sustainable, local and healthy produce
    Chefs purchase from local farmers when possible
    Strong sense of community in the kitchen
    The hours are good for working moms

    Cons

    Some of the cooks did not care about their jobs or the quality of their food
    Sometimes a disconnect between management and staff, upper management just didn't pay that much attention.
    Not much room to grow, you stay in the same position
    Pay is quite low
    Cooks could use more on the job training & skill building

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I would do training workshops for the kitchen staff so that they can learn new culinary skills and dishes which would make them more excited to produce quality food. If you work in a kitchen you generally like to cook but culinary school is often not worth the cost so providing an incentive for your crew to learn would really boost morale.
