Great company if you're looking for a task oriented position that will remain stable, instead of professional growth

    Pros

The people in the trenches are loyal to Bulova, many have been there over 10 - 15 years, cafeteria on site (could use improvement), no issue with parking, friendly environment

    Cons

No clear ownership of responsibilities & accountability throughout the organization, lack of drive to improve, lack of leadership's understanding of systems and processes, lack of documentation, poor communication from top down to user level, no understanding of company direction, very outdated systems, limited to no opportunity growth within the company, no good public transportation to location, old stale environment to work within

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please take the time to learn how your people are executing tasks at the user level. Once you have better understanding of how many steps it takes to execute one action, you will clearly realize that systems & processes need immediate updating. The systems were built on a series of work arounds, which makes for limited and broken foundation. They cannot be flexible or adaptable quickly, due to this broken foundation. Communicate. Empower your employees to recommend change, and reward them for their efforts. Your people in the trenches want to be proud of their work, but they do not understand how they are contributing to the company's vision. Your human resources are not being valued at all. This means fairly compensating your employees for the impact they have on the organization, clear two way communication to include everyone in the company's challenges and successes. Finally, give your people the right tools & training to execute the position. This means upgrading from Lotus Notes (cannot search emails within filed folders, which wastes time), need real reporting software (Access is only method for querying multiple databases), your ERP system is outdated by 10 years and not fully utilized,
