    Unprofessional management and low commissions

Current Employee - Sales Associate in Toronto, ON (Canada)
Current Employee - Sales Associate in Toronto, ON (Canada)

I have been working at Burberry part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    - Get to work at a luxury retailer
    - During holiday seasons, get a 50% discount, otherwise a 40% discount (but even with your discount, the price of the item would be extremely expensive and not worth it)
    - 2-3 outgoing co-workers

    Cons

    - Management is very unprofessional. For instance, the GM (general manager) of the store comes in hours late to his own shift, never/very rarely emails back or replies to phone calls/text messages, and if it's regarding your schedule, he will get upset even though you tried contacting him several times
    - Supervisors try to act like the managers but give off a very cocky attitude
    - Assistant Manager never/rarely present
    - 1% Commission!!! You need to sell $1000 worth of items to make $10...
    - Majority of customers are oriental, and unfortunately only go to the oriental employees, so the rest of us are left alone while they ring up all the sales/commission
    - Schedules are not updated
    - Other employees steal your commission by punching in their own employee numbers rather than yours!
    - No room for advancement

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1) Train your Supervisors to remove the attitude and be more friendly and down to earth (none of that fake smile nonsense) 2) If you hire a GM, make sure he/she is professional and knows how to communicate 3) Make a strict policy about commissions so that others don't steal yours and increase it from 1%

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
