I have been working at Burns & McDonnell

    Pros

On the outside looking in, it seems like a great place to work. Don't get me wrong, the year end bonus and the idea of a ton of stock at the end of your career is great!

    Cons

However.....If you aren't in KC (headquarters), then you are left out in the cold on most if not all benefits. In Fort Worth, there is no room for upward movement. The managers have their favorites and will not allow you to get ahead. You can work 12 hours a day with no lunch breaks and still get told that your year wasn't good. They will tell you that there is nothing you can do to get to a certain level, pretty much putting you in a box for your entire career. As stated before the end of year bonus is great, however the rest of the industry has a base 20% higher than yours so your bonus is simply catching you up to what you should already be making. My advice to anyone looking to work here, look elsewhere, you will not be treated fairly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be fair (simple right) and realize that your employees (who make you rich), are more than just numbers....
