Great fleet/driver managers who really care and help you when needed. Newer equipment- I drive a 2014 Freightliner Hometime is when you ask for it. I sometimes am a little late because I live in Florida.Freight in and out of here is tough. The pay and benefits are good. I've been there almost 2 years and get .42 mile with an average of 5500 to 6000 a week split. Each driver earns a different amount depending on experience. 95% of loads are drop and hook. Those customers are major players such as UPS, FEDEX, Amazon,Conway, Estes, and ABF. CRST really cares about safety! You are not forced to run with a safety issue. Bottom line- Don't believe everything bad you hear about any trucking company. Do your research, and talk to a few present drivers, not drivers who left the company.
Trainers could be paid more. I left training because of this. I make more running as a team. Maintenance is a roll of the dice. My Qualcomm is still not working right after two months and three visits to terminals. But, most of the time the work is done quickly and done right. Working with the night/weekend crew can be a challenge. But, this is no fault of theirs. They are understaffed and overwhelmed, so getting help can take a while at times.
Advice to Management
Put more people in night/weekend shifts. Constant issues get frustrating. Pay your trainers more. Why split miles? How about Trainers getting paid a fixed salary?
