    Pros

    My pharmacy team is wonderful, hardworking and tenacious. In the fast-paced world of retail pharmacy, it can be hard to keep up. I'm lucky to have them on bored with me for the daily roller-coaster ride that is or profession.

    Cons

    I may come off as hyper-critical, but there is so much more that we need on a day to day basis to keep the pharmacy afloat. We're never given enough tech hours to be truly efficient; most days having only 2 pharm techs at a time, 1 stuck at drop-off and another forever at pick-up with little getting done in production. Pairing this with outdated equipment that must be constantly rebooted, eats away at even more time.

    Advice to Management

    The idea that my PIC and I can constantly do 'more with less' has become ludicrous. Compounded with putting in around 7 hours minimum, unpaid on a weekly basis playing catch-up as well as managerial tasks that can never be accomplished during the normal 'work day' leaves me stressed and strained from a job that I once found truly enjoyable.
    It's time for us to stop worrying about our 'bottom line' and focus on true patient-centered health care. Give us the tools we need to succeed, instead of taking them away and wondering why things aren't getting done.
