    Pros

    The company Is really trying to promote better health for both its employees and its customers. I work at the Alamo Downs San Antonio, TX location. The facilities are pretty clean and neat. There is a onsite cafeteria that really sells healthy and not as healthy meals at low prices. You have a onsite credit union bank that offers some really great rates for both checking and savings account. There better than any credit union account I had before. Signup is free and offered on the first day. More importantly you if use direct deposit you get paid on Wednesday. Also they have 24 atm on site as well. Also they pay a extra dollar if you work a scheduled shift after 7:00 pm and 2 dollars if you work past midnight. In general the atmosphere is friendly, courteous and negativity is actively discouraged. They have a strong work at home program and seem to promote a lot. It seems fairly easy to move up in the company. People who have worked a year already moved into positions of responsibility.

    Cons

    Unless you have a degree they start everyone at the same pay rate regardless how many years of experience. Even though I work on a small team I don't have person to person connection with my colleagues and supervisor. Everything is communicated through email and office communicator. I often feel isolated when I work at my desk. You might as well work at home. As the company tries to change internally and externally there is chaos and sometimes the process and protocols fall short and there is real compartmentalized mindset between departments and minimal coordination to solve issues. However their greatest weakness is the clinical department compared to Walgreens and Medco companies I worked for in the past Cvs pharmacists and technicians overall appear to have weak people skills and really needs to work on how they speak to people and help resolve issue that appear simply administrative but have the potential over time to adversely affect members/patients.

    Advice to Management

    Hard to say what advice I could give because there is a lot of changes going on and it hard to avoid growing pains. Maybe just be patient...?
