I worked at Cactus Communications as a contractor for more than a year

The interview process was professional, you have to edit a sample for them and then they provide feedback. All of my interactions with people have been on good terms, they try to be helpful with their advice and give some feedback.

The pay isn't a living wage, unfortunately, and there often isn't enough time to do the edits to the level of perfection they require. There also isn't a consistent rating system- it varies from editor to editor, and some will rate the edits lower for a single mistake, while others will let a minor thing pass. There is also no way to respond to the rating system. They also seem to expect that you be available (and work) 24/7, with no time off to relax.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better pay will help retain good people. Also, please consider a clear set of standards for the rating of edits.
