Not a bad jumping off point, but don't make your career here

I worked at Caesars Entertainment full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great experience right out of school. Interesting work, and you will learn a ton for the first year. Pay is decent for Las Vegas.

Health insurance premiums are very low. Access to free personal training at the employee gym. On-site cafeteria is free (but the food is terrible).

    Cons

Working for a company this big means that red tape is pervasive. Trying to change a flawed process is met with skepticism. Too many old timers in leadership (people who have been with the company for 20+ years) who are not receptive to change.

Lots of politics, terrible work life balance. Pay is lower than you can get in major cities. Unclear feedback from leadership means you may work towards the wrong goals, which is inevitably held against you.

Top performers are "rewarded" with interesting projects, but the repetitive reporting doesn't get shifted off your plate, so the work-life balance suffers.

Long term, the business is not healthy. Debt load is unmanageable and makes the operating environment suffocating. No space for creativity or risk taking because budgets are so constrained.

he company is not well positioned for the changing landscape of the gaming industry. Too much reliance on the gaming piece, getting passed by competitors in hotel, hospitality, nightlife, restaurants.

Terrible 401k match. Office space is awful. At times very difficult to get the tools/technology you need to do your job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to your professional employees. Employee Opinion Survey is too focused on hourly employees, and irrelevant for career tracking for professionals.

Fix the business by focusing less on the gaming side. Keep working on reducing the debt burden.
