I worked at Cal State East Bay full-time (More than 8 years)

Students from all walks of life, including all ethnicities, incomes, ages and demographics. Non-traditional students make up about 30 percent of the student body, veterans and business burnouts included and they tend to be the most motivated and hard-working students.

The Chancellor and board have been squeezing the faculty and students for years, reducing teaching and student resources and increasing benefit costs and tuition. Moral among both faculty and students has been decreasing while frustration and burnout has been on the rise.

    Advice to Management

Reduce administration costs and focus on funneling the savings to faculty and students by increasing class availability and resources. Ditch an antiquated tenure system that keeps burned out, ineffective faculty for a merit system that includes multiple avenues of evaluation.
