    I have been working at Calico Corners full-time for more than 10 years


    Beautiful fabrics and finished products, good employee discounts, great coworkers, close to home. Hours generally good, with flexibility.


    Many, many changes over the past few years have created a current management group that is comprised of people with little "real-life" knowledge of stores and the areas they manage. Most of the people that actually understood their areas are no longer with the company. Senior Management is clueless (or doesn't care) - it's obvious that some people received large increases/bonuses (all of a sudden they're driving new expensive cars) while the everyone else received a pittance (the first in 5 years).

    Long term store personnel need to be acknowledged for their loyalty during the last few years as well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    The company has lost it's heart and it's way....used to be a fun, creative, challenging place to be - with prospects for the future. It's hard to stay motivated with so much of the "heart" of the company gone. It's very frustrating to not be able to service stores and customers because no one left has actual knowledge.

     Do you really want the business to thrive?

     If so, you need to rebuild with people who really have experience and can bring passion, knowledge and most importantly, the ability to make EVERYONE feel valued, not just a chosen few.
