I have been working at Calpine as a contractor (more than an year)

3 day weekends. We work 4/10's, which is nice.

As a contractor you don't have any benefits, you don't deserve anything. At least in the Geysers their treatment towards women is totally racist... basically administration. Barely any room for growth. Worst HR department ever... they are known as "Human Remains". HR has created an environment of fear, threatning to fire people just because.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start considering people as your most important asset and if you have a contractor working for you for more than a year, hire them. It is obvious you need him/her. I know people here that has been working as a contractor for more than 6 years....applying for openings and being denied for the most stupid reasons. Management prefer to hire a new person than someone that has been doing it for years.
