I have been working at Carlson Wagonlit Travel full-time

-Global company, work with people from all over the world
-Strong flexibility to work from home when needed
-Some really smart, friendly and fun people

-Poor benefits in the US (really bad 401K plan, medical plan is a joke with a min deductible of $1,600 per year for an individual and $3,200 for a couple, privately held company so no stakes/stock is given).
-Poor work/life balance.. you are expected to be available anytime, take calls in the middle of the night.. company promotes people based on age (you have to be old), and who you are friends with (be part of THE boys' club).
-Salaries are much lower than market average overall.. that's the pay philosophy
-Everything is a fire drill, many people are based all over the world which creates strong organizational dysfunctions
-Too many VPs for such a small organization creates a corporate culture of strong egos

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Improve financial benefits
    - Improve your OLD SCHOOL corporate philosophy and be open to learn from Gen Y, who will represent 70% of your workforce in 10 years
    - Stop acting like a Fortune 100 company when CWT is in reality a small company with ~4,000 corporate people.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
