Current Employee - Customer Consultant in London, England (UK)

I have been working at Carphone Warehouse part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Ive worked with some nice consultants

    Cons

Incredibly poor managment at store level (with exception being last branch)
Area management DISGUSTINGLY inadequate and in most cases non exsistant, no support given what so ever!
Your opinion is NOT respected, when you raise serious issues to the AM you hope you would be taken seriously - however you get nothing
You get far in this company if you are a suck up!
Company couldn't care less about their employees, no appreciation for working yourself into the ground for them
Training when joining the company consists of them telling you to sell insurance and nothing else, then you get thrown in at the deep end
They implement new 'exciting' EECC tablets that 99.5% of the time dont work but apparently thats not a good enough reason not being able to use them????? And you get threatened with being sacked if you dont use them??? And why? Because the company have thrown thousands into the project, and by the way we WEREN'T trained to use them!
The company is a sinking ship, one that I and loads more are ESCAPING!
Oh and one last thing, this company think twice about stabbing you in the back, after all we are 10 a penny! Disposable!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reading 'An idiots guide to being a manager' is not sufficient to run a large team, and using threats is not the way to get what you need from your employees.
