I have been working at Carrols full-time (more than 10 years)

The benefits package for management is pretty decent in price and what you get. The line of work is pretty much standard as compared to companies of the like. As long as you are doing your job and it is up to their expectations, they pretty much leave you alone to do the work as needed and without much interference.

As with many jobs in this industry, the hours are often long requiring 50 hours (or more) a week. They offer a paid vacation period that (very slowly) builds up to nice time off. They don't offer paid holidays (besides Christmas). As stated, if you do your work well they leave you alone; however, you are at the mercy of your fellow managers work. Thus, if you count accurately and do everything else as required yet someone else doesn't, it affects your work as well and makes you all look bad. Their standards are quite respectable although often unobtainable (which also factors into your "not so spectacular" bonus package). They focus most on their bottom line than on what really matters (i.e. customer service, crew/manager satisfaction and retention, D.T. times, etc.). Most of your shift is "supposed" to be run from within your office, not the floor where it should be; ideally you are "supposed" to check different reports every half hour or hour which, as anyone in this industry knows, is almost impossible (especially during peak periods). They lack appreciation for good work and most of the hard work you do looks good for your stores' sole contact (the RGM). Finally, they don't care about crew in the least. I understand the point of saving labor costs but they are cutting down to next to nothing which, again, negatively affects the customer service. I also understand the Obamacare policy of no more than 30 hours (or they must offer benefits), but they cut down even more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We have families; your corporate employees (who sit at computers most of the day) get holidays but we don't, even though the sales are not there and it is often more financially-sound to be closed. Give credit where credit is due; not only to the RGM. Focus more on customer service and things that keep your business going and your crew/managers/customers happy than your bottom line. Offer more/better incentives for good, hard work.
