I work at the Chicago location - I've been there for a few years, and my experience has been that this location cares a lot about the product they work on. They are respectful of each other, and has to be one of the most well run professional environments I've worked in.
The rest of the corporate culture seems to catching up to this micro-environment which is the Chicago office and unfortunately, it is bringing some nuances of corporate America with it. Communication with external offices is a bit strenuous, and a lack of external offices understanding the benefit of working in teams, rather than categorizing individual employees and micromanaging. The company structure has a severe lack of upward mobility.
Advice to Management
Within Chicago - Provide morale boost and incentives for employees to go above and beyond, otherwise it will be hard to keep talent. Corporate - provide better benefits and compensation to attract fresh talent.
