    Terrible entry level "counseling"

I worked at Center For Behavioral Health full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

You can get help with supervision if you're looking to get a CADC.

    Cons

The pay is extremely low considering the amount of work demanded. This causes high turn-over in clinical and medial staff. Caseloads often go above the 40 clients that is promised during interview and regulated by KY law. This turns the job into little more than case management. The hours are terrible 5am-1pm M-F, plus weekend mornings occasionally. Many of the clinical staff are inexperienced in counseling and have little knowledge of actual addiction treatment techniques. Management is only worried about patients staying in treatment to keep money coming in, and keeping their charts 100% accurate (even if not true). Management and upper management doesn't know how to speak to their employees in a professional constructive-criticism style of speech. I've witnessed fellow co-workers in tears multiple times over the way they were talked to by management. Spend any time there as a patient or staff, and you'll realize that this is just a money-making machine, not a treatment facility.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay a decent wage and get some better clinical staff in. Also might help keep the turnover from being so high. Make an effort to make it more of a counseling / treatment environment, instead of just a cash factory.
