I have been working at Central Garden & Pet full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

They offer competitive pay and benefits.

    Cons

Very little communication from corporate office in Walnut Creek regarding company performance, direction, etc.

It is time for some of the tenured employees to move on or retire: they are stuck in the past.

Unwilling to invest in technology that would improve the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate and listen to mid-level managers and employees frequently.

Get consultant to help develop a long term company plan for success.

Stop looking for the right leaders, groom current employees for future leadership positions.
