    I worked at Ceridian full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Work/Life Balance
    Virtual Environment
    Talented Development Team

    Cons

    Solution has a very niche market based on capabilities and where it falls in development life cycle.
    Inability to make commitments to prospects regarding implementation timelines.
    Small territories due to niche solution...in the 300-500 ee segment sales close rates are averaging in the 5-10% range nationwide. Overall territory counts on avg. are 150 accounts of which 40-50% are not good fits due to a vast myriad of reasons.
    Solutions Consultant leadership are quick to be disengaged in opportunities to keep their #'s looking good than to be collaborative towards working towards a viable solution offering.
    Comp structure has changed 3 times in the last year and a half.
    Implementation does not count towards quota retirement and is paid a commission of less than 2% to sales.
    A number of senior level management changes in the last 10 years...too many to count.
    Incompetent Middle Management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Run a flatter organization; No need for middle management as they are just messengers and do not contribute much to sales process success. Give more territory to sales based on the reality of where the product fits in with most accounts...cut the sales force to do this and get rid of DVP's to a AVP-Rep structure. Listen to feedback from the field level to get a better understanding of challenges rather than the DVP'S level which are looking to justify their jobs.
