    I worked at ChannelAdvisor full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    The company's CEO is a great guy who knows e-commerce like the back of his hand. Benefits are great and pay is decent though in my time they began to pay incoming inside sales almost 6k less than when I started. Great location and food trucks are plentiful, albeit expensive. So much potential with the growth of e-commerce but...

    Cons

    But the entire sales organization is a mess. Inside Sales is a school for learning how to cheat and go behind people's backs to get ahead. During my time I saw one truly deserving person get promoted but others who were buddies with the right people or found ways to steal accounts got ahead most often. Managers who didn't know anything about e-commerce were brought on, and they thought you tube videos were sufficient motivation...as well as daily threats against your job.

    Since leaving I have heard and seen a mass exodus of people with all the skill to succeed but who were beat down by the ChannelAdvisor system. They charge a fortune for the product and the only happy customers are the enterprise clients. You would be well advised to look elsewhere unless you want to work outside the sales dept, cause those people have it easy!

    I left, found a better paying position and even met people who applied to ChannelAdvisor that thought it was dysfunctional. They were pleased to hear they made the right choice in saying no!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Allow people to grow into a role that suits them instead of pigeon holing them into just sales. Hire managers who encourage instead of bully and try to keep the sales rules in place for more than 2 weeks at a time before switching the script on everyone.
