I have been working at Charles River Development full-time (More than 5 years)
Charles River Development is a great place to work if you're self-motivated, don't need a lot of hand-holding, have high standards, and want to learn a lot about the financial services industry. Pay is typically above average though this has been eroded to an extent because of the high demand for skilled engineers and managers. Benefits are about average, perhaps a bit less in some areas and more in others. One benefit is that everyone gets an additional day off each year until you hit 5 weeks so you don't have to wait 5 years to get another block of vacation time. I've read many of the reviews here and I just don't see the same company or culture that many of the negative reviews offer up. Yes, it's hard to work there. Expectations are high, teams are lightly staffed which can lead to heavy workloads and frustration at time, but that's the same thing I've seen in many places. Charles River is a good place for people that aren't afraid to put their hand up and ask for more responsibility or contribute in other ways. Individual leadership and ownership is highly valued.
Not a great place to work if you're not self-motivated, need hand-holding, have low standards, etc. Typical stuff that is not valued basically everywhere.
