I have been working at Charter College full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

People I work with are great. I love that it is team oriented and the dynamic is great. People are friendly and easy going. If you want to be a business that help change people and student's career and lives, then this is where you might want to be. Education reimbursement is a plus here. It can be challenging when helping students but very rewarding when the outcomes turn out positively.

    Cons

Poor benefits and pay - no paid sick time, and you have to request PTO if you are sick. I think that is ridiculous! No room for promotion and little pay increase (2-3% or $0.5 more per hour), and that is nothing! Policies and procedures change all the time and a lot of them are no where to be found, so it's hard to keep up with it. The company doesn't care for its employees as they fire people here and there, especially Admissions Department. I don't appreciate the fact that people are called stupid at an all employee meeting. It is insulting and degrading! It does not reflect the company and the leaders well at all, and in fact, employees will start disliking the company and looking somewhere else if they are not appreciated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do something that will make your employees feel special. Make them feel like you want them to be there. Do more training so employees feel confident and competent at what they do.
