I have been working at Charter Schools USA full-time for more than a year

    Pros

We got a raise.... and a bonus from the governor. We have a job. Um, can not think of anything else.

    Cons

Ok. We are going on week 6 and we still haven't been told how much our raise is or how much the governor's bonus is. When we ask, we are told by the principal "I don't know". Well, FIND OUT! I don't know is not the right answer.

Management needs to act as such. Employees know who the Principal and AP favor because it made very obvious.

Let us teach. Mega binders with a minimum of 4 page lesson plans for EACH subject area with a minute by minute breakdown, curriculum maps, all the standard....now print them....with your own paper because they don't supply it, agendas posted with minute by minute breakdown, walk throughs, Quest visits, non-negotiable goals, reading challenge for teachers (like I have time to read for pleasure), month by month bulletin board themes that are also non-negotiable...oh yeah, don't forget to put the standard in the corner at the bottom right, and the list goes on.

We have no consumables or curriculum for social studies and science, so we have to come up with our own worksheets and tests....and print them...on what? Our paper, unless you ask the office manager and then she want to know why you need so much paper.

    And, the list goes on.....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let teachers teach. Listen and hear what your employees are saying. Maybe you will be able to change the negative opinion of the majority of your employees. Give us the resources we need, such as paper, books, etc. Also, don't blame us when the copy machines fail. We have 3 machines, 80+ people using them making lots of copies because you have not supplied us consumables. Appreciate your teachers and all the give of themselves and their OWN time. If you look at the hours that are worked and divide those hours by what we make, we are probably making less than minimum wage.
