Gives exposure to high end customers and technologies.
Mid-level employees are great and fun people.
Builds tough skin.
Has loophole expense policy that lets you take expensive taxi rides but forces you to sleep in a terrible hotel fifty miles away from the city you are visiting.
Rarely fire people based on their incompetence.
Salary will never be as good as their competitors. You can go work at Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, or FireEye and they will pay you at least 20% more.
Management does not listen at all. Once you are recognized as being good at your job, you will be worked until you start to lose your hair.
Purchasing takes more than one year.
Product management is a joke and a laughing stock in the rest of the company. There is no real vision. They are only concerned with squeezing every last dollar to make the stock go higher.
US headquarters feels like a place that only exists because it has to. It lacks energy, team building and is like a graveyard.
Only gives RSUs every two years even if you are a top performer.
In summary, Check Point makes it very difficult to enjoy your work. People who have stayed more than three years are not ones who want to strive for excellence and achieve. They just do the daily grind to hit their numbers so they can get paid. If you are in the San Francisco Bay Area and want to work on great software, in security, or any other modern technology platform then skip Check Point.
Advice to Management
Listen and build you team in the US.
Improve the product quality instead of saying that the metrics only show bugs increased a small amount. Treat people with respect instead of yelling at them.
CEO should go out and talk to the employees directly because he probably has no idea what is actually happening and is never present in the US offices unless passing through.
