I have been working at Chicago full-time (less than an year)

City benefits and pay. Tiered salary system which increases as you have more years on the job, just like CPD except the top end isn't as high. Good retirement benefits. Good place to start out if it's your first "police job" and meet people to network with and move around to another department. You attend CPD training academy and become a state certified LEO upon graduation.

Unarmed. and that doesn't appear to be changing anytime soon even though they're always on the "brink" of fixing that. Kind of unorganized compared to most other police departments but thats because it used to be a political dumping ground.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management is good. Considering more than a few guys there are retired CPD. The current batch of bosses are really pushing to get the guys there armed and attempting to bring more prestige to the dept.

    Positive Outlook
