I worked at Chicago Transit Authority

    Pros

Their training is exclusive and better than any bus service on map ,when you finish training you are well prepared for public transportation and communication the pay at the time was better than most companies by a great margin.

    Cons

NO con they let you know what to expect day one.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you never drove a bus go operate one for one week after training of course or push to have a training program set up for management so you can see just how it is.I strongly believe no one should be allowed to sit in that position with out such knowledge and for those who have don't stop acknowledging the fact yes rules are rules but you know when they are not fair and where does human decency come in with understanding and your work environment for the company and the public unify when departments are separated theres no unity and two can't walk together except they agree. the public is your first priority drivers should not be stressed out or under such conditions while driving the company has a very large stress level because of work condition do to new rules all the time not to make the drivers work safer or the customers when you are sent traveling at enormous speeds ,short terminal times, swing shifts, certain whether conditions the drivers become a nervous time bomb trying to keep their job and worse accidents are caused and the company loses all the way around because of the way they structure work conditions for the drivers putting the public in harms way 24/7 365 days over loaded buses included, people tripping over each other hurting them selves falling down steps falling into fair boxes getting shut up in doors street surfaces uneven pot holes four clocks to watch for time calling out stops when equipment stops functioning properly buses break down upset passengers all the paper work for all these incidents 12-15 hours of your day used to make sometimes six hours pay doing swing shifts part time cleaning your bus at end terminals people sleep on the bus ,homeless people, all kinds of oders some people don't want to pay.I strongly implement putting the time back in the runs work on building strong repore between management and drivers and a true way to provide safe clean,on-time courteous and efficient service that will deliver quality affordable transit service that link people jobs & communities at this point this is not whats taken place no work force should be divided management against regular or union employees this not good for the public service and safety of the riders and the stress level on the riders is also high because of the companies structure of procedures some one has to come in and restructure the whole format for the benefit of the public and it is public transportation isn't it no one ever stresses the work conditions or even look to see if the public will be took under consideration when they make such changes unless they are trying to destroy the company for other reasons from the inside.
