I worked at Children’s Home Society of Florida full-time (More than a year)
The co-workers are mostly nice; some are not nice.
The constant micro-management, focus on statistics, lack of interest in working with families, poor service to families, lack of funding for services - yet money available for big salaries for top management, and bonuses for everyone. The cars are dangerous junk. The office is a dump. The office is filthy - bugs everywhere, filthy carpet, crumbling furniture, a kitchen that you wouldn't drink a glass of water in. What ever the contract holder wants is what they get - at the cost of children's safety, well-being and reunifying with their families. It is pathetic.
Advice to Management
Get with the program and why you are in the field in the first place. Hire qualified people, not the first one that walks through the door. Examine your management's focus on statistics (used only to get bigger and better contracts). Drop the fake PR garbage. No one is buying it - least of all your employees.
