I have been working at Children’s Home Society of Florida full-time (More than 3 years)
Working with families and children. It's a great pleasure helping families change their lives and giving them hope. Hours can be flexible. Educational!!!
The pay is awful, the caseload is ridiculously high, no support from upper management, they are quick to throw you under a bus for any little mistake, not trained properly, expectations are too high for 40 hour workweek and overtime is not allowed. We are overworked to the point were we put our own families aside and not appreciated for it at all. There's just not enough time in a work week to get accomplished that needs to be done.
Advice to Management
Learn to help out your front line! The whole goal for this company is to ensure that children are safe! When the frontline is overwork it makes it very difficult to ensure the safety of children. DCM's can try their best, but we are human. When you have an entire office crying out for help that's when upper management needs to learn to step up and when they don't the children's safety is at risk.
