I worked at Chronicle of Higher Education full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Hours 9-5pm
    24 Vacation Days
    Unlimited Sick Days
    Relaxed Environment

    Cons

Totally agree with other reviewer: Old Mentality Higher Ups
The HR department managed one person for years.
Not the best place for someone starting out in HR.
You need to be seasoned and even then good luck with introducing you new HR ideas or practices because "its not the Chronicle way". Well the "Chronicle way" has resulted in low morale, next to no pay raises..there is not a bright future for this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of senior managers who have been with The Chronicle for years; They are stuck in their own ways and will not bring the company to the next level.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
