I have been working at Cigna as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Cigna is a large organization and has lot of money to spend.
Cigna has the best methodology in implementing the software development life cycle(i.e. Proper Planning).
Learned new things by working in this company.

    Cons

Perfect Machine Type Work Culture. For example, sharp 8:00 am in the office. High Security for simple access.
No one knows what is going on. You'll see a bunch of people working on the "same exact thing" without knowing to each other. My Colleagues were scattered out in different locations. Also you will see people using vulgar language in the meetings. (**************.........). I was shocked at first.

Politics among the implementation vendors is killing the quality of the software.
Every vendor wants to bring all of his employees into the team so that he/she can control the project.
So They are very rude to other vendor teams. In order to accomplish their dictatorship, they Intentionally stress employees from other teams until the employees leave.
No Appreciation for your work accomplished. So it doesn't matter how hard you work in this organization. You're very safe only if you're from the same vendor as your boss. Otherwise your boss will stress you to max until you leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please don't hire resources unnecessarily. For example, a resource who doesn't know the difference between dev and test driving the IT projects.
I know its hard to stop the office politics, but please try to reduce at-least up-to some extent. This will help reduce the stress levels in the employees. Also help you in retaining the hard-working employees.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
