I worked at CitiMortgage full-time (more than 10 years)

I worked there for 15 years and gained knowledge about the mortgage industry like no other. I was trained and excelled, I worked with some great people and had good managers. When I first started working there the place was like a family. I was promoted numerous times within my department; the pay was fair in the beginning, the benefits medical & dental coverage were excellent, the PTO and volunteer day great, I had accumulated 5 weeks vacation, the pension and 401K were outstanding under FNMC. Flex schedule was awesome 4 10 hour days. From the start I was proud to work for FNMC then Citi purchased it and everythong changed. I was given a nice severance package when I was fazed out.

Removed all the male managers and replaced with female managers, this culture change had an extremely negative impact on the department. This happened once Citi purchased FNMC. Performance reviews not handled fairly and you were lucky to receive 2% merit increase with no cost of living increase once my department moved to Hagerstown no increase received at all due to cost of living per management and our cubicals better know as our cells were terrible you basically sat one on top of the other again this was not the case when the department was in Frederick, MD.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you invest 15 years of training, classes and have true talent do not discard them for younger cheaper staff. I was truly devastated when forced out and have not been able to get back on track. Citi had become part of me and I am lost without it. You could offer to transfer staff to other areas instead of throwing them away. I thought I would retire from Citi boy was I blindsided.
