I have been working at Citibank full-time (less than an year)

Nice Bank offices, good benefits, semi flexible schedule

The single most disorganized, dysfunctional, poorly managed, archaic software. They pay no real salary yet expect to mandate that the mortgage consultant man a desk 6 hours a day waiting for a mortgage to come in. The u/w software approves the loans based on fannie guidelines and Citi manually kicks them out in Underwriting. The state they have lending programs that they don't have. The upper management blatantly lie to the mortgage consultant, the bankers, and the borrowers. In 10 years in the mortgage industry Citi mortgage is the single most incomptent lender I have ever encountered.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clean house, update your lending software to the 21st century and shut down managers who push the mortgage consultants to upload loans that are not going to be approved and closed. Throwing wood in the works simply falsely inflates numbers and generates false expectations. Also it gums up the works and prevents the necessary attention and time need by underwriters to work on and close real loans.
