I worked at Citrix Systems full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Extremely employee focused with a strong emphasis on team work within the corporate facility. Products that work well and can be considered best in class for most of the corporate world. Strong leadership team in product development and production.

    Cons

If you work outside the corporate facility or do not have direct connections to those who do work inside, their management is "hit and miss" with some being nurtured to succeed and others simply out in the field. Promotion to management from field positions is almost nonexistent. The products are not cutting edge and the pricing structure is behind some of the competition, however they have a HUGE name that helps pull product through in larger accounts. Higher level management (outside of product development and production) is weaker than would be expected. Many of the people are local therefore the pool of talent from which to pull is smaller.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your overall style and message is that employees are very important but in practice that is not a consistent value held by middle management. infighting between sales divisions is not productive and creates an atmosphere of distrust. Manager support and leadership is poor. If you were to engage a company to aggressively survey employees and provide non-biased feedback with recommendations then put a team together to implement these changes you could increase your bottom line by 20% easily.
