I have been working at City of Salisbury (Maryland)

    Pros

Employee benefits are good along with the health insurance (bluecross)

    Cons

There are not many opportunities for growth. Those that deserve promotions are not the ones to receive them. Salary increase do not even keep pace with inflation. Upper management has a set agenda when it comes to projects and position promotions. Upper management thinks its doing a good job but employee morale is very very low. In most administrative dept. employees are overworked and underpaid. Upper management alo has an unwillingness to change the status quo.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees and reward them for a job well one. Salary increase should be an automatic in each year's budget. Each year employee are put on the back burner with the excuse that "we are in a tight budget year".
