I have been working at Coast Mountain Bus Company full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits are good and pension will be if the don't take it away

    Cons

Overloaded middle management micro managing, with favouritism, do not know their position and utilize the frontline longterm employees for their knowledge base. The moral is extremely bad due to the eliminated employees in each department and short-staff over the last few years. Transit Operators are stretched to the limits with no run time and the traffic increasing daily and they have no mentorship from their supervisors at all. The depot dispatch departments have been cut to minimal staff and overworked. Job descriptions requiring minimum 1 year in position to be able to understand the dynamics are now being filled by outside casual help which has caused extreme errors costing the company money. So many things the public should know but are hidden to the facts I could go on and on.
All of these issues and more cost the taxpayer, along with the management raises and year end bonuses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This was once a great company to work for with a management that use to care about their employees. There was team support with a knowledge base of processes by management that had worked up through the ranks. Get back your values and ethics and start providing better leadership.
