I have been working at College Works Painting as an intern (Less than a year)RecommendsPositive OutlookRecommendsPositive Outlook
This internship provided plenty of great experience talking and working with a broad spectrum of people, from clients to superiors in the company and other interns. As well, the aspect of managing the expenses and subordinate workers in the company is very stressful but equally as developmental for me. It is also comforting to know that through the demanding process, I always have my district manager to consult for advice. Overall, it's a great experience!
One of the few downsides that become immediately visible with this internship is the difficulty of doing door-to-door marketing. The worst in people definitely comes out once a solicitor knocks on their door; you know people are not interested the second you look at them, but it's my job to change their mind. The only other real con associated with this internship is the fact that you are not paid until the paint job is completed and painting doesn't start until the summer. Until then, you are compensated for gas with a dollar per lead. Nonetheless, these cons do not undermine the opportunities this internship provides to an undergraduate student.
